While you will only see that I lost about 2lbs, and a few inches, I feel like the 12 week challenge was a success. I’m fighting a thyroid issue and a hormonal issue.  This coming week I’ll be headed to the doctor for an injection to put me in a temporary menopause at the age of 38.  This challenge was my way of preparing myself for the changes that my body is going to go through over the next 3-4 months once I get my injection.  From there we will be able to determine whether i need a hysterectomy. 

This challenge to me was about establishing a routine.  A routine of putting importance on my needs and not just that of my 2 boys and husband.  I needed something to jumpstart my daily fitness, and to think about what I was putting into my body.  I wanted to change my mind set to encourage fitness as a way to lose some weight (or maintain as right now my body is fighting against any weight loss).  I wanted to incorporate more meditation to add balance and some calm to my very busy life.  Sundays became an active fitness  day with walks on a trail or yoga.  

When I was posting my workouts in the local group it was a way to motivate myself to move and encourage others to move.  I almost felt guilty if I didn’t get that workout posted!   I’m excited to be part of the group, to encourage others with my story, and to add workouts for those that might work during the week and can’t always make the daytime free workout.  

Moving forward I’m scared of the future.  I’m scared of my body still fighting against me.  But I feel like I’m more prepared now than I was at the beginning of this challenge.  I’ve taken the last 3 months to mentally get ready for this next step, establish a workout routine that works for me and my body (M- upper body, T – cardio, W – lower body, TH – cardio, Fri – day off, S – strength & cardio, Sun – active rest day).  I have a three year old and a 16 year old, and I’m so glad they both see me living a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes my pre-schooler even joined in!  I’m ready to face this next challenge and to face it with the support and accountability of my local group.  

I may not be able to lose a ton of weight, but I feel healthy by putting the right foods in my body.  Feeding it to fuel it!  And by getting my heart rate up and challenging my muscles.  So here is to the next 3 months
