No Excuse Mom: Heather Reetz
I am 47 years old. I am a musician (singer). A friend, already apart of the No Excuse Mom organization, invited me to join when she saw a Facebook post I had made regarding my weight and asking my friends to help keep me motivated and accountable. Biggest excuses…I am 47, why does it matter? I am married, why does it matter? I realized it does matter. I have 2 beautiful daughters and I want to be a better example to them. I want to be here for them as long as possible and I want to feel as good as I can for as long as I am here and for me! Favorite exercise…recumbent bicycle! I have lower back issues and it is a great cardio workout for those with physical restrictions. Food…all of it and that was the problem. To pick a weight loss favorite, I discovered squash in every variety as a lifesaving food for me! Cutting out pasta is much easier with a delicious substitute. Between pics was 6 months. Tips…don’t get hung up on scales and numbers. Do chart your food intake and calorie burn. Something about seeing it all charted out makes it so much easier to keep on track. Social Media, just Facebook!
To me, being a no excuse mom is not letting your own head, or even the act of parenting get in the way of being a better version of you. – Heather Reetz
